Premier Power Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of BG Plc (formerly British Gas), owns and operates Ballylumford Power Station, one of the largest power stations on the island of Ireland.
Premier Power recently completed a £200 Million project to create Northern Ireland's first Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power station.
During this development period we provided strategic communications advice to Premier Power for four years, covering media relations, event management and media training as well as 24/7 crisis management support.
We advised the company on all aspects of their communications programme including handling corporate announcements, such as new contract wins and developments within the CCGT project. We were also instrumental in developing relationships with the local community, a key audience during the construction phase. We supported the company’s public affairs needs during this time, ensuring public support for the company’s plans, which resulted in job losses associated with the introduction of new technology. We also operated a round the clock crisis management function which was called upon on a number of occasions where industrial accidents and equipment failure occurred, resulting in electricity supply issues.
