The largest sporting event in the world was held in Ireland in 2003. Special Olympics – a worldwide organisation for people with a learning disability - hosts its World Games every 4 years.
For the first time, this major event was held outside the United States and saw over 7,000 athletes competing in 21 sports, 3,000 coaches and official delegates and over 28,000 families and friends arrive on the island.
We acted as the official PR partner in Northern Ireland working on a pro-bono basis and managed media relations activity for the games, achieving huge amounts of media coverage and helping the organisation realise its targets for Games volunteers and fundraising necessary to make the Games a success.
