They do say never work with Children or animals but we disagree. A press launch by children, for children was a fantastic opportunity to get ideas from them and make it their event.
The purpose was t launch a consultation with young people to find out what issues thy wanted the new Commissioner for Children and Young People to tackle on their behalf.
With the help of the BBC we arranged for the young adults to produce and star in their very own news programme using the Newsline studio – literally producing tomorrow’s news today. We even arranged for them to go out and about in Belfast to ask the opinions of the general public about what issues are important to young people.
This unique event was part of an overall award winning integrated campaign which kick started a very important initial engagement with young people and other interested parties about a very important issue. The coverage was fantastic and really got the message out.
