The Brief
On 8 November 2007 Invest NI and Constructing Excellence NI organised a conference to highlight the business opportunities arising from plans to host and deliver the London Olympics in 2012. The event would give local companies in the construction industry information on how to meet criteria in the tender process for extensive development in built facilities.
The Event
We worked closely with the Trade Division and Corporate Marketing teams in Invest NI to assist in the planning and implementation of this important event. As this was the inaugural event for Northern Ireland to host as part of the London 2012 plans it was important for us to provide an appropriate backdrop for the quality of speakers at the event. We also had to consider different corporate brands to include in the design, but not detract from Invest NI as the host of the event. We liaised closely with Invest NI and our suppliers to ensure all technical equipment was provided including a ‘real time’ keypad voting system to capture audience feedback.
The Results
Lord Coe visited Belfast for the first time in his new role as Chair of the Olympic Committee; over 150 delegates got very excited about Olympic opportunities for Northern Ireland and live voting keypads provided ‘real time’ positive feedback in a matter of seconds.
